What is this medicine used for?

It used for the prevention and protection of heart and liver diseases.It can be used as an adjunctive therapy for patients with Coronary Heart Disease and Fatty Liver.

How much and how often should you use this medicine?

150 mg: for daily maintenance, 1-2 capsules

Care that should be taken when taking this Medicine

It should be taken with food. It should not be taken by patients allergic to soya oil, children, pregnant and lactating women.

Undesirable effects

Occasional laxative effects. Abdominal bloating, diarrhea, flatulence, loss of appetite, anorexia, nausea, vomitting, stomach upset.

Medicine or food that should be avoided

Some medications are changed and broken down by the liver. Milk thistle might decrease how quickly the liver breaks down some medications. Taking milk thistle along with some medications that are broken down by the liver can increase the effects and side effects of some medications.

Some medications that are changed by the liver include amitriptyline, diazepam, zileuton, celecoxib, diclofenac, fluvastatin, glipizide, ibuprofen, irbesartan, losartan, phenytoin, piroxicam , tamoxifen, tolbutamide, torsemide, warfarin and others.

It should not be used by patients during dimecaprol therapy. Dimercaprol can bind with certain metals such as iron and selenium, forming a complex that is toxic to the kidneys.
